Cleanings & Prevention

Keep your smile healthy with comprehensive cleanings and preventive care. Remove plaque and buildup, reducing the risk of cavities and gum disease.

Dental Checkup

Detect and Protect

Dental checkups are the cornerstone of preventative oral care. During these checkups, we examine your smile, teeth, and gums for infection, decay, and disease, such as cavities or periodontitis (gum disease). Catching these issues early is essential to maintaining long-term oral health.

During your exam, we encourage you to be open and honest with our dental team so we can provide the best care possible. At Arcadia Medi-Dental, we’re committed to creating a supportive, judgment-free environment where your comfort and trust come first.

During your dental checkup, we'll also take a moment to share tips that help you care for your smile at home—so you can keep your teeth healthy between visits!

Digital X-Rays

Safer, Smarter Imaging

As part of your dental exam, we may take digital X-rays to get a clearer view of your teeth, gums, and jawbone. X-rays help us detect issues that aren’t visible during a regular exam—such as cavities between teeth, infections, bone loss, or impacted teeth.

At Arcadia Medi-Dental Group, we use modern digital X-rays that reduce radiation exposure by up to 90% compared to traditional film X-rays. Digital radiography is safer and provides clearer images, helping our dentists give you the best possible care.

Dental Cleaning

Thorough Cleanings with a Gentle Feeling

Dental cleanings are crucial to keeping your teeth and gums healthy. During your dental cleaning, we will gently remove any plaque and tartar, buildups of bacteria and food debris that deposit onto the teeth.

Prophylaxis: A prophylaxis is a routine cleaning for patients with healthy teeth and gums overall. These types of cleanings are the most common and are a form of preventative care.

Scaling and root planning (SRP): An SRP is a deep dental cleaning that targets areas below the gum line, removing bacteria and hardened tartar from around the roots of your teeth. To ensure your comfort, we gently numb the gums with local anesthesia during the procedure. SRPs are typically recommended for patients with mild to moderate gum disease (periodontitis).

At the end of your cleaning, we will polish your teeth to help protect against future plaque buildup, allowing your teeth to stay shiny and smoother longer.
